How much would I spend daily on three meals a day, for two people? I’m not looking for anything fancy, just some local Brazilian food. Oh and would it be cheaper to buy swimwear here in the US or wait till I get there? Thanks everyone!
Brazil has a type of restaurant that maybe is not familiar to you. Is food by the kilo. Is a buffet of cold and hot dishes were you selfserve whatever you like and weight you dish before going to your table. prices vary from USD 10 to USD 30 per kilo. If you are coming to rio - copacabana you may have some difficulty finding them, but if you need assistance, contact me. I run a small travel agency in Rio and can give you hints about food services as well as lodging, transportqation, tours, etc.
Since its better to have two pieces of swimwear at hand, buy one is US and when you have a chance in brazil buy another one.

That would depend a lot on where in Brasil you are traveling to. Example; the North East ( Fortalza, Natal) are much cheaper places to live than São Paulo or Rio. Depends if you want chicken or lobster. You have to remember that the average Brasilian on the street dosn´t have a lot of money so if you hunt around, you can find some good food at relatively cheap prices.
If you want swim wear made in Brasil……..buy in Brasil.
If you want some famous international designer ( Lacoste for example)……..buy at home.

Well! It will depend of the restaurant. It doesn’t matter if it serves Brazilian foods only or not, but it depends of the restaurant anyway.
If you wanna go to a common restaurant which serves what Brazilians usually eat, you can find several with a good food and price of US$ 25.80/ R$ 45,00 daily, at least. Of course, that’s not a standard. I did a projection of a common self-service restaurant found in Downtown, for example.
Well! I don’t know how a swimwear is in USA, but I think it’d be better if you bought here because you’d see what we wear and how our fashion to swimwears is. I really recommend you to buy in clothe shops because if there is some problem, you’d have more protection of law. I recommend you common shops like: C&A, Riachuelo, Lojas Esplanada By Express, Lojas Americanas etc.

for Rio de Janeiro,
you can eat cheap good food everywhere there, definitly buy swimwear there (but of course
bring a suit or two that you like- the suits are smaller there)
you can get a wax for about $25 reals and up) men and women too ; )
the Rio for Partiers (there is a website and a published guide) has lots of great info…
3 meals two people? if your on a tight budget- depending on the exchange rate too
but $15-30 dollars per person - really depends on where you eat
swim suits start at like $10 dollars and go up- there are people who sell them on the beach,
you will find them everywhere. but they are almost always bikinis but some of the stores will have one pieces too.
definitley check out the " rio for partiers "guide, it will help you get around and negotiate,
and it has a great section telling you what all the snack foods are that they sell on the beach
and at the snack shops (salgados) and juices and fruits …

it depends.. it can get pretty expensive there. I would get one here, and then get some there, too. You want to have some before you go just in case you do not find what you want in your price range. You have to be aware of poor quality, too when the prices are cheap in Brazil.

great place I love to shop here for my travels.
